In May 10/2016, the mass media have published information about the American Honda officially announced the recall of 350,000 new Honda Civic Sedan car cover and coupes, the cause is determined to summon EPB fault ( electronic parking brake).

Honda Civic models recently launched in Vietnam market is not influenced electronic parking brake fault, such as in the North American market. The cause of the summons shall be determined by the software that controls vehicle stability equipment can help prevent electronic parking brake (EPB) operational as soon as they are activated, after turning off the ignition switch . In case the system is not working properly EPB technique makes the vehicle can roll despite being in park mode.

Basically, electronic parking brake (EPB) system operating in the tire pressure warning (iDWS) data read into memory (ROM) in the balancing system support vehicle (VSA-ECU) . The error occurs when the EPB can not connect to the VSA through iDWS ROM. iDWS system of tire pressure warning is equipped with air temperature sensor and steering angle sensor according to the law in the North American market. In Asian markets, including Thailand (Civic in VN is imported CBU from Thailand), the system alerts the tire pressure sensors do not have it. DWS iDWS and basically has the same functions, are to notice a decrease when tire pressure is below standard, but the communication process from the EPB to iDWS and DWS are different. This difference leads to errors in the Civic in North America are in Asia are not affected. To resolve this issue, the measures give is reset software VSA electronic controller.
